Earth Day with Bandaloop!

BANDALOOP honors nature, community, and the human spirit through perspective-bending, vertical dance. Using buildings, trees, and more as a dance floor on its side, BANDALOOP creates original performances suited for the times we are all living in. A pioneer in vertical performance, BANDALOOP seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality, intricate choreography, and climbing technology to turn the dance floor on its side. BANDALOOP’s site-reactive work has been presented worldwide in theaters and museums, on skyscrapers, bridges, billboards, and historical sites, in atriums and convention halls, in nature on cliffs, and on screen. As Artist in Residence in BANDALOOP's inaugural UPDRAFT fellowship, Jes DeVille will join the team for an Earth Day celebration in Oakland, California. More info coming soon!

Global Perspectives in Dance

This quarter we are proud to offer an interdisciplinary interview with OHA! founder, choreographer, and creative producer Jes DeVille. We'll discuss dancing without borders, as they share their insight and experience as an artist in residence working with perspective-changing vertical dance company Bandaloop, managing San Francisco based nonprofit Epiphany Dance Theater, and developing an eco-embodiment app highlighting biocultural heritage around the world. Hosted by CTSA International Initiatives’ Guest Artist Speaker Series: Global Perspectives and Artistic Practice.
