Project Description
A proof-of-concept for Openhaus Athletics’ proprietary learning software. The GOODFOOT app and its associated eco-embodiment curriculum was play-tested during the early pandemic timeline for the “hybrid education” students of Oasis for Girls, the Nueva School, and Chinese American International School among others. GOODFOOT encourages students to draw similarities between living systems and social systems, learning the histories of our built and natural landscapes to best affect their futures. Using choreography as cartography, we draw inspiration from both Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects and Deepa Iyer’s framework for a social change ecosystem, with participants defining and designing unique ecological identities, planting literal and figurative seeds for a vibrant future.
Fundraising for the next iteration of the app is underway, with substantial support from Design Science Studio and UC Irvine’s Living Systems Collaboratory.
