TRANSMARSH Block Party, presented by Oaklash in collaboration with BODYSTORM, is a free outdoor micro-festival celebrating queer trans futurity on the eve of the San Francisco Trans March. The evening begins at 7pm on June 25 with a trans history walking tour with Tenderloin Museum, then moves to the Turk and Taylor Street intersection for earthbound and airborne performances at the Timbri Hotel.

TRANSMARSH rewilds the Tenderloin by reigniting the memory of the prehistoric salt marshes beneath Market Street and marking the 60th anniversary of the trans-led uprising at Compton’s Cafeteria — a building now operating as a for-profit detention facility owned by GEO Group. The work lifts these intersecting narratives off the ground and asks what comes next: how we grieve, adapt, and move through the coming storms together. On the eve before SF Trans March arrives with “One Struggle, One Fight,” TRANSMARSH Block Party brings intersectionality to the intersection.

The lineup features some of the Bay Area’s hottest queer and trans artists. BODYSTORM, founded by transgender vertical dancer B Dean, performs site-specific aerial work on the Timbri facade alongside ensemble member Pangaea and live sound by tome. Skywatchers brings work rooted in deep Tenderloin relationships and intergenerational justice. Javier Stell-Frésquez, a two-spirit Xicanx multimedia performer, presents her touring work Mother / Forgotten Blaze. Drag Princess Mojo Carter brings the spectacle and warmth as a beloved artist across SF’s queer scene. Closing the night, 7000COILS, a queer Black creative collective brings DJs BluMoon and KKINGBOO live on the decks. GRAVITY Access Services provides access guides and audio description upon request.

Fiscally sponsored by Circo Zero and funded by the Zellerbach, Rainin, and Svane Family Foundations. Free with RSVP. June 25, 7pm
